What is the Robots file?
The robots.txt file is the implementation of the standard for the exclusion of robots.It is important because it tells search engine crawlers which parts of a website can be crawled. Search engines regularly check robots.txt to verify crawl instructions. These instructions are called "directives". If a site does not have the robots.txt file or does not contain applicable directives, the crawlers will crawl the entire site.
What does the module do?
This module allows you to edit this file directly from the Prestashop back office, avoiding to manually edit the file. Without this module, in fact, to modify this file, you need to connect to the server where your prestashop store resides, access its folder (main root), open the robots.txt file and modify it using an editor. The key word, therefore, is "comfort".

Installation
When installing the module, make sure the robots.txt file exists or, alternatively, generate it via the Prestashop back-office function. This is because, when the module is installed, the robots.txt file currently present will be read and, starting from that file, it will be possible to append new directives. The module also offers the possibility (through configuration) to ignore the robots.txt file currently present, by activating the option "Overwrite the prestashop robots.txt / overwrite prestashop robots.txt" and proceed to insert a new robots. txt taking only the directives defined within the module.
