Installation

Standard module installation process required. 

After installation steps:
  • Enable the WebP functionality in the module configuration page
  • Convert the existing images to WebP, by pressing the play button in front of the image
  • Newly product added images will automatically be converted to WebP, while the WebP functionality of the module is enabled.
  • There are no advanced features you need to worry about, the module is optimized out of the box, there is no danger to break the images as the jpg version of the images will still be there, if a jpg image is corrupted and cannot be converted, the jpg version will be displayed so your site is safe in any situation

    Recommandations

    PHP version above 5.6 is needed to run on your server, but don't worry most of the servers have it or a newer version installed.

    One of the following modules need to be configured on the server:
    • Gd - php module with imagewebp, imagecreatefrompng and imagecreatefromjpeg functions
    • Imagick - php module with webp compiled
    • Gmagick  - php module with webp compiled
