By default, Prestashop does not give the option to verify email addresses at the time of registration. This allows people with fake email addresses to create an account. This is a perfect scenario for spammers as they can create hundreds of accounts on your store without any hassle.

Email Verification for Customer Activation Module caters to this problem as it will force new customers to verify their email addresses. At the time of registration, a validation email will be sent to the customer’s email address and only after he has clicked on the link in his email he will be allowed to use his/ her account.

Admin can also customize the message that will be shown on the registration page intimating the new customers that they will need to verify their email.
